Management of the University of Lagos has commiserated with the family of the Chairman, Premier Lotto Limited and Founder, Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF), Sir Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu over the demise of his wife, Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu.

Dame Caroline Oladunni Adebutu died on Monday, January 9, 2023 at the age of 83.

The UNILAG management team, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, was at the Ikoyi residence of the Adebutu dynasty, on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, for a condolence visit. They were received by the business mogul and philanthropist, Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebutu alongside some members of the family including two of his daughters, Pastor Mrs. Bolanle Martel- Okoh and Dr Abiola Olorode.

Prof. Folasade Ogunsola on behalf of the management, staff and students of the university, sympathized with the Adebutu family over the death of their matriarch.

She prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased, urged the family to take solace in the good deeds and legacies of their matriarch while alive and also wished them the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his response, Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu appreciated the UNILAG management for always honouring the family and for taking time to identify as well as commiserate with them during a trying time as this.

The founder of Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) also used the avenue to congratulate Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, on her appointment and investiture as Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG and wish her a successful tenure.

Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu has a long standing relationship with the University of Lagos through his acts of benevolence and generosity towards the sustained growth and development of UNILAG with capital intensive projects such as the KAAF Medical Laboratory and Maternity Centre, the ongoing Medical Research Centre at the College of Medicine and the provision of Premium Health insurance for 35,005 full-time students of UNILAG under the Ilera Eko Telemedicine plan.

His latest donation to UNILAG were three telemedicine booths estimated at over N200,000,000.00 (two hundred million naira) which were commissioned as part of activities marking the university’s 53rd convocation and Diamond jubilee anniversary.

Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu holds an Honorary Doctorate degree of the University of Lagos, one he bagged during the 51st Convocation ceremonies.
